DC Comics Employees To Decide Today If They’re Moving West

As strange as it is to think of DC Comics not being based in New York, it’s really happening. The men and women who make the comics are going Hollywood come 2015 as the publishing arm of DC Entertainment joins the rest of the company out in Burbank.

But the employees who currently work in New York are apparently out of time to decide their future. As reported by Rich Johnston on Bleeding Cool, the deadline is today for the folks at 1700 Broadway to decide if they want to head West (and get compensated for the move) or stay behind and look for other jobs.

Certainly, DC’s identity isn’t as tied up in New York as it is for Marvel since its heroes mostly have their adventures in fictional cities. But it’s still going to be weird to not have one of the big two companies producing super hero comics in the Big Apple, even if it makes perfect sense for the larger corporation to have everyone in one location.

Good luck to everyone making the relocation, and even moreso to the talented folks who end up searching for work in the near future.
