Get ready to visit Gotham City every week starting this fall.

Though it was already widely assumed to be a done deal, Fox made it official on Monday that Gotham would be given a full season order for the 2014-15 TV season. Centering on Ben McKenzie’s James Gordon before he became Commissioner, the show will also delve into the motivations and origins of the people who will become some of Batman’s most famous villains, including Riddler (played by Cory Michael Smith), Penguin (Cory Michael Smith) and Catwoman (Camren Bicondova).

As for Bruce Wayne, he’ll be there too, but too young to sport the cape and cowl. Gotham will be similar to Smallville in that the hero will likely only really be ready to suit up when the show comes to an end.

It’s shaping up to be a great season for fans of DC Comics’ characters, as the CW has already renewed Arrow and is expected to announce that The Flash will make its fall lineup as well. Better start clearing up your calendar on weeknights now.
