Report: Batman: Arkham Knight To Release February 24, 2015

It looks like Kevin Conroy may have been close but just a tad too optimistic when the voice of Batman declared that Batman: Arkham Knight would be out next January.

According to a report on VG 24/7 citing a U.S. Microsoft Store listing, the final Arkham game — but first on PS4 and Xbox One — from Rocksteady will release on February 24, 2015. That may seem like a long wait to get your hands on the steering wheel of the Batmobile, but it’s still quite a bit more palatable than many other games shows at E3 this year that probably won’t launch until fall of 2015.

I had a chance to spend time with what amounted to about a 20-minute chunk of gameplay from Arkham Knight, and I came away suitably impressed. All of the elements that made previous games in the series so popular return, and there’s plenty of new stuff to dig into as well. Rocksteady is putting the power afforded by the new consoles to good use, making the visuals even better than before. And yes, the Batmobile is awesome.

It’s worth keeping in mind that the February date hasn’t been confirmed and could still be subject to delays even if it is legitimate. But at least there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, and it appears it’ll lead us to next winter. I can live with that.
