Ant-Man Cast Picks Up David Dastmalchian

Apparently one good turn in a super hero movie or TV show deserves another. Yesterday it was Devin Aoki going from Sin City to Arrow, and today comes word that David Dastmalchian, who was in The Dark Knight, has been cast in Marvel’s upcoming Ant-Man.

As MTV’com’s Josh Wigler points out, trying to figure out who Dastmalchian is playing is probably a fool’s errand at this point since so much about Ant-Man is still in flux. The only roles we know for certain at this point are two of the guys who suited up as Ant-Man in the comics: Paul Rudd as Scott Lang and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym.

That means Dastmalchian can be added to the likes of Evangeline Lilly and Patrick Wilson as people we know are in the film but whose roles are still unknown. At least one of them has to end up as a villain, right?

Assuming it stays on schedule from here on out, Ant-Man is slated for release on July 17, 2015, kicking off Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
