SDCC 2014: Michael Douglas Will Be On Hand To Promote Ant-Man

Even though he’s sad about Edgar Wright splitting from Ant-Man, Michael Douglas is still going to be at Comic-Con helping to promote the upcoming film.

Douglas, who is playing original Ant-Man Hank Pym, told Collider that he’s taking his son out of camp to bring with him but that they only have time to be in San Diego for one night. That would be Saturday night, July 26, when Marvel closes out the schedule for Hall H with the night’s final panel.

The veteran actor is also prepared to head to Atlanta to begin shooting scenes with new director Peyton Reed in August. It’ll help having such an experienced hand around for a movie that has already seen its share of shake-ups. For now, it’s still all systems go for the Ant-Man to hit its planned release date of July 17, 2015. Since it is officially kicking off Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (as Avengers: Age of Ultron closes out Phase Two), Marvel has a vested interest in ensuring Ant-Man pulls together.
