Marvel To Announce New Title Tonight On The Colbert Report

You certainly can’t say Marvel isn’t exploring every channel possible when presenting new comic book series to audiences who wouldn’t otherwise hear about them.

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s reveal of a new female Thor on The View, Marvel is ready to make another big announcement tonight. Joe Quesada will appear on tonight’s episode of The Colbert Report to announce another new title that will usher in an “all-new era for one of Marvel’s most classic Super Heroes.”

Given that the Thor news was so perfectly tailored for the demographic that generally watches The View, it’s fun to take some guesses as to what might be coming on Colbert’s show. Could it be something with a more comedic tone? Or, since Colbert wraps himself in the flag when he’s in character, could it be something of a more patriotic bent — like, say, a new Captain America series to tie in with what we already know about that role passing from Steve Rogers to someone else?

We’ll know later tonight, as The Colbert Report airs on Comedy Central at 11:30 pm Eastern time.
