Howard The Duck Omnibus Returns In October

If you’re one of the people who was confused by the post-credits scene in Guardians of the Galaxy, you’ll have one less excuse come October.

Howard the Duck is making a different kind of comeback thanks to a brand new printing of the Howard the Duck Omnibus. The plucky duck who was “trapped in a world he never made” rose from his debut as a guest-star in Man-Thing stories (an inauspicious beginning, to be sure) to become the star of his own series. He ran for president, mastered Quack Fu and had a bunch of surreal adventures in the prime Marvel Universe while never quite giving up his dream of returning to a world without talking, hairless apes.

The hardcover book collects Adventures Into Fear #19, Man-Thing #1, Giant-Size Man Thing #4-5, Howard the Duck #1-33, Marvel Treasury Edition #12 and Marvel Team-Up #96 — which features Howard joining forces with Spider-Man — for an experience that is guaranteed to be more enjoyable than watching the 1986 movie again. Or for the first time, if you haven’t subjected yourself to it yet.

The Howard the Duck Omnibus has as much waterfowl action as you can handle, much of it written by co-creator Steve Gerber. That should be plenty of material to ensure that if Marvel really goes there and does another Howard film, you’ll be ready.
