Zack Snyder Sticks Up For Aquaman, Says He “Has The Potential To Be Badass”

Whatever you think of director Zack Snyder and his super hero movie efforts to date, his heart is definitely in the right place. As evidence, The Wrap reported that Snyder heard two Detroit radio DJs clowning Aquaman, and he wasn’t about to take that.

Opining that the King of Atlantis’ trident could “cut the flesh of Superman if they came in contact” (Editor’s note: Bam Smack Pow research intern, please check on that!), he made it clear how he feels about Aquaman:

"He has the potential to be badass."

He certainly does. Geoff Johns showed that in the New 52 Aquaman title, which also played with the idea that the hero is disrespected by the public in the DC Universe just as he is in real life.

Of course, Spinoff Online thinks Snyder may have had an ulterior motive for defending Aquaman’s honor; namely, that Jason Momoa has been heavily rumored to be playing him in Snyder’s upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. I guess we should all feign surprise if Aquaman saves Superman from getting his butt handed to him in that flick.

Anyway, three cheers for Zack Snyder, at least for today.
