Watch Barry Allen Go From Zero To Hero In New Flash Trailer

Hey, I thought Disney’s version of Hercules already went “from zero to hero in no time flat?”

More from TV

No matter. That was figurative, whereas Barry Allen is about to go from zero to hero even faster on The Flash. The new “In a Flash” trailer released by The CW is a quick one (that should be mandatory for this series, no?), and it is mostly made up of scenes we’ve already seen before: Grant Gustin’s Allen freaking out at his out-of-control hand, the costume revealed for the first time, and Allen putting his speed to the test on the track. Something tells me he might break a few world records out there.

What I like best is the way Barry rejoices when he gets to open up the throttle. Let’s face it: though fighting super villains wouldn’t be all laughs, being able to run at super-speed would be a lot of fun. The showrunners have been hinting at a somewhat lighter tone for The Flash than for its brooding cousin, Arrow, and that comes across in just these short snippets.

The Flash debuts on The CW on Tuesday, October 7 at 8 pm.
