Check Out The Awesome Francis Manapul Batman Poster For New York Comic Con

DC Comics staffers might be leaving New York to join the rest of their DC Entertainment co-workers in California next year, but the company can still do one mean salute to the Big Apple.

Writer/artist Francis Manapul, a personal favorite of mine due to his distinctive style and our shared Pinoy heritage, did the honors on this NYCC poster for DC, and it’s pretty awesome:

Manapul has had some pretty good practice for this, as he’s currently illustrating the adventures of the Dark Knight in Detective Comics. His design sense is always impressive, and I love the way he incorporates the map into the image.

All of the details for New York Comic Con are right there on the poster, but just in case: it takes place from October 9 through October 12 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan, it’s probably the biggest show of its kind on the East Coast this year, and you can get more details on guests, programming and more at NewYorkComicCon.com.
