I guess this qualifies as a major spoiler, though probably not considering most fans wouldn’t expect Marvel to be killing off Hawkeye right when it might need him for Captain America 3: the Avenging Archer doesn’t die in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
We know that because Renner says it himself in his upcoming appearance on Larry King Now. The actor actually sat down at the Beverly Hilton to discuss his starring role in Kill the Messenger, a thriller that comes out in October, but King couldn’t help but ask a bit about the fate of Hawkeye as well.
No man, I don’t die. They are going to keep me around for a while.
Unless he’s just throwing us off the scent, that’s a pretty firm confirmation that he makes it out of Age of Ultron in one piece.
Renner also spoke about the kick he gets from young fans who recognize him as Hawkeye:
That is the coolest thing ever. The innocence of a child running up to you with like a little bow and arrow and wanting you to sign it or with a captains shield, it’s a lovely thing.
You’ll be able to see Renner’s entire interview with King when the full episode of Larry King Now airs on the week of October 6, but you can check out the exclusive first look clip below for more of the scoop on Hawkeye, straight from the archer’s mouth.
