It’s been a good three weeks and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow has returned from its hiatus with the episode “Left Behind.” Even though three of our Legends were left in the past for two years, they really don’t miss a beat in terms of fighting.

Legendary Recap: Chronos attacks the ship and commandeers it. He takes off, leaving Ray, Kendra, and Sara behind. On board, Rip, Martin, and Jax go for the jumpship while Leonard holds Chronos back. Rip decides to go back for Leonard. Martin and Jax quickly disobey Rip’s orders and become Firestorm. When they finally arrive on the bridge, they discover that Chronos had taken Leonard for unknown reasons.

Rip discovers that Chronos had sabotaged the ship. Rip hooks the controls up to Gideon. When she becomes operational, she’ll take over. Until then, the Waverider will be falling through time.

Knowing that the team is not coming back for them, Ray, Kendra, and Sara leave Harmony Falls (in case Vandal Savage is still looking for them) and move to Hub City to wait it out. Ray creates a time beacon, but it malfunctions. Sara, frustrated in finding her place in the world, leaves the group and goes off on her own.

Two years later, Ray is a professor at a college and has made a life with Kendra. At picnic where Ray is about to propose to Kendra, his new time beacon activates. They look towards the sky and see the Waverider return. Rip exits and jokingly apologizes for being late.

Kendra wonders why Chronos took Leonard. Rip begins the search for Sara.

On Chronos’s ship, Leonard is cuffed to a railing. Chronos quickly gets wind of the Waverider due to a time anomaly being detected.

Ray needs to go back to 1960 because he left his Atom suit behind. But above all else, Ray actually doesn’t want to leave the life he built with Kendra. Kendra, on the other, felt out of place in 1960 and couldn’t wait to get back.

In 1960 Nanda Parbat, Sara has advanced through the League of Shadows at an impressive rate. Ra’s al Ghul approaches her with his daughter — a young Talia al Ghul.

Leonard wants to know why Chronos took him. Chronos removes his mask to reveal Mick.

Flashback: Lenoard never executed Mick. He fired his freeze weapon and purposely missed. Leonard then knocks out Mick, with the intention of returning for him.

On the verge of insanity, Mick was actually found by the Time Masters. The Time Masters took him to the Vanishing Point where he spent lifetimes being trained by them. As revenge, Mick later volunteered to help the Time Masters hunt down the Legends.

In a conversation with Ray about familiar surroundings, Kendra tells him that the memories of her past lives are slowly drifting away and that she’s unable to reveal her wings. Kendra suddenly realizes that Sara must’ve rejoined something that was familiar to her — the League of Assassins. Rip uses the Shadow Record — a secret list of every League of Assassins member — and finds a name that matches Sara’s League name in addition to coinciding with the year 1960.

Mick is bent on revenge and wants to go back in time to kill Leonard’s sister repeatedly.

The team reaches the League of Assassins’ fortress. Rip sneaks in to Sara’s bedroom and soon finds out that she doesn’t want to return with them. In fact, she alerts other League members and the Legends are captured.

According to the will of Ra’s al Ghul, the team will now be executed for trespassing. Rip explains to the team that Sara’s behavior is the result of a time drift — someone forgetting who they are due to being in an alien timeline. Rip quickly figures out a loophole and requests to speak with Ra’s.

Mick arms himself, ready to go after the Legends. Leonard implores whatever is left of Mick’s old self to not do it.

Rip explains to Ra’s that he has the right to have a trial by combat. Ra’s agrees, but choose Sara as his proxy. Rip counters it and chooses Kendra as his. Rip’s plan is to have Kendra appeal to Sara’s humanity.

Leonard sees his freeze gun among Mick’s weapons. He makes his way to the weapons rack and retrieves it. He activates it and fires it at his shackled hand. With his hand frozen solid, Leonard painfully shatters it to free himself.

Sara and Kendra are in a fierce battle. When Sara gets the upper hand, Kendra’s warrior side is unleashed and her wings reappear. Sara damages one of Kendra’s wings and the two crash to the ground. Just as Sara is about to kill Kendra, Kendra calls her the White Canary. Sara’s old self instantly returns.

Mick suddenly blasts his way into the League’s fortress. Rip tells Ra’s that if they don’t join forces against Chronos, the League will fall. Ra’s agrees and releases the rest of the Legends.

The Legends fight against Chronos. After a dramatic battle, Chronos is overpowered. When Firestorm is about to kill him, Leonard enters and stops him. They unmask Chronos and find out that it’s Mick.

Rip attempts to tell Ra’s that they’re from the future, but the Demon’s Head already figured it out from Sara’s accelerated training progress. Ra’s realizes that Sara is a conflicted soul and that she belongs nowhere. He releases her to find herself. Before leaving, Sara requests that in 2008, Ra’s send his daughter to the coast of Lian Yu. When Ra’s questions why he would send Talia, Sara clarifies that he will be sending a daughter who is yet to be born — Nyssa.

Mick is locked up in a secure cell on the Waverider. Rip sees this as a chance to reform him. The team agrees that Mick is worth saving after they recollect the times that Mick saved their lives.

In the infirmary, Rip reveals to Leonard a secret technology he never mentioned — regeneration. Rip then has Gideon regenerate Leonard’s hand.

Ray had misconstrued Kendra’s desire in returning to their old lives as a break-up. Kendra never wanted their relationship to end. The two are now back to being a couple again.

Rip briefs the team on their next mission: they will travel to 2147 where it’s guaranteed that Vandal Savage will be present.
