The Flash: Violett Beane Will Be Back For Season 3

According to Violett Beane, she will be returning for the third season of The Flash but as which version of Jesse Quick, no one seems to know.

Recently, Grant Gustin, who plays the title role in CW’s The Flash, confirmed what many comic book fans had been suspecting since the Season 2 finale: Flashpoint is coming.

For those who may have missed the DC Comics event, “Flashpoint” sees Barry go back in time to save his mother from being killed by the Reverse-Flash. However, that simple act sets off a chain reaction that greatly changes the timeline. Allies are now enemies and the present Barry wakes up to is not exactly what anyone would call a better place thanks to his actions.

At this point it is unknown if the “Flashpoint” storyline will be resolved in the end of the premiere of if it will play out over the course of the season. What is known is that Tom Cavanagh will be back as the Earth-2 Harrison Wells as a series regular and it looks like he is bringing his television daughter with him.

At the recent Saturn Awards, TV Line.com spoke to Violett Bean and she confirmed that she will be back as Jesse for Season 3 of the series.

Of course, whether that is Jesse with or without powers seems to be anyone’s guess.

"“I know I’ll be back. But I don’t know if it’s with or without powers.“When Jesse got hit, I was like ‘It’s happening! It’s happening!’ There was the spark when she got out of the coma, but… it didn’t happen, and I was like, ‘No!’ I’m very excited [to play a speedster], and would love for it to happen early next season. … With the whole Flashpoint, anything can happen, right? It’s literally open to any different kind of false reality. She could be Earth-One Jesse, she could be a speedster… Who knows!”"

In Season 2 of The Flash, Jesse was hit by lightning from the particle accelerator when Team Flash were trying to give Barry his powers back. This led many fans to assume that Jesse would be taking up the mantle of Jesse Quick sooner rather than later.

However, that turned out not to be the case as the writers have really taken their time developing both Jesse and Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) and haven’t rushed to turn either character into their comic book counterparts.

There is also the fact that the version of Jesse we met in Season 2 was from Earth-2, so naturally there may or may not be an Earth-1 Jesse somewhere out there that we haven’t met yet.

Whatever Jesse we end up seeing, the third season of The Flash is quickly shaping up to what could be the best yet for the young series. “Flashpoint” alone opens so many doors as well as Supergirl now joining the rest of the Arrowverse on The CW.

The Flash Season 3 will premiere on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 on The CW.
