This week on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, the team goes to NASA in the 1970s to find Commander Steel and the last piece of the Spear of Destiny.

Last week on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow‘s “Land of the Lost” episode, the team ventured into Rip’s mind to try to bring him back. What they found were twisted versions of themselves that Eobard designed to trick Rip.

Evil Rip Hunter temporarily gained control of Gideon and the Waverider, making the ship crash in the Cretaceous Period. Lucikly, Mick was able to subdue Rip. However, they’re problems were far from over—the Waverider lost its temporal delineator and Ray, Nate, and Amaya had to venture out into dinosaur-territory to find it.

Meanwhile, Mick proposes a risky Time Master method of trying to bring Rip back and finding out where Commander Steel hid the last piece of the Spear of Destiny. Using Cognitive Intrusion, Sara and Jax ventured into Rip’s mind where they found the real Rip caged.

Evil versions of the Legends terrorized Rip, making him believe that his own team had turned on him. However, the only guiding light was Gideon—seen as an actual person.

The away team was able to find the delineator, but it was located in the middle of a T-Rex nest. Amaya eventually uses her abilities to communicate with the dinosaur, allowing the team to retrieve the delineator.

Back in the virtual world, Rip, Sara, and Jax were able to defeat their doppelgangers. As Rip said a final goodbye to the Gideon avatar, the two shared a passionate kiss. Waking up in the real world, good Rip was back. And to his pleasant surprise, Gideon actually remembered their kiss. A relationship that could certainly could be explored in future episodes.

Now that the team has been made whole again, they’re focused on finding the Spear of Destiny. This takes them to NASA in the 1970s where an astronaut is about to go on the Apollo 13 mission. This week, the team will face off against the Legion of Doom—in space. Here’s the official synopsis from The CW:

“Moonshot”

"HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM — When the Legends track Commander Steel (guest star Matthew MacCaull) to NASA Headquarters in 1970, they learn where Nate’s (Nick Zano) grandfather hid the last fragment of the Spear of Destiny. The team notices a time aberration during the Apollo 13 mission and believes that the Legion of Doom might be involved. As the Legends journey into space to intercept Apollo 13, the Waverider suffers massive internal damage and Ray’s (Brandon Routh) life is left in jeopardy when he is stranded on the moon. Meanwhile, tension grows between Rip (Arthur Darvill) and Sara (Caity Lotz) as to who is the leader of the team."
