There were a lot of great shows that hit the airwaves in 2024, but there is absolutely no denying that 2025 is going to be one of the biggest years in TV history!

In the year ahead, dozens of both new and returning shows will grace our screens including some of the most-watched shows in the game.

Among the shows coming in the year ahead are new seasons of many shows we haven’t seen in several years such as Wednesday, The Wheel of Time, and The Last Of Us. This year also brings with it the return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil in what promises to be one of Marvel's biggest Disney+ original series ever, bringing the beloved character back into the fold seven years after Netflix canceled Daredevil after three seasons.

2025 also brings about what is one of the most anticipated TV events since the series finale of Game of Thrones with the promise of the final season of Stranger Things. Will the show be able to stick to the landing? That's the million-dollar question for fans who have been anxiously awaiting the show's return.

There are so many shows worthy of fans' attention this year, but we'd be lying if we didn't admit these 10 particular shows TV lovers would be crazy not to watch.

The Night Agent

One of the first shows to return in the new year is Netflix’s breakout hit from 2023, The Night Agent. No one predicted The Night Agent would become one of the biggest shows of the year when it debuted in 2023, but audiences across the globe quickly fell in love with Gabriel Basso’s Peter Sutherland who will be back for a new adventure in season 2.

The second season finds our newly minted Night Agent once again racing against the clock, this time to stop an attack planned on New York City. He’ll once again have Luciane Buchanan’s Rose Larkin by his side and there will be plenty of new faces entering the picture across the second season when it drops in January.

If season 1 was any indication, fans are in for yet another thrilling season full of shocking twists and unexpected blindsides and we wouldn’t be surprised at all if season 2 ended up being even bigger than the show’s first season! Speaking of which, there is plenty of time to catch up on season 1 before season 2’s arrival this month and we can promise you won’t want to sleep on this incredible series.

The Night Agent season 2 premieres Jan. 23 on Netflix.

Daredevil: Born Again

When Netflix canceled Daredevil back in 2018, Marvel fans thought we’d never get the chance to see Charlie Cox suit up again as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen and for a long way it looked like his time playing the character was over. Then Marvel surprised fans by bringing Cox back into the fold via Spider-Man: No Way Home via a surprise cameo that cracked the door open for his eventual return in a larger role. Enter Daredevil: Born Again.

This new Disney+ original series will see Cox back as Daredevil once again juggling his dual life as a vigilante by night and a lawyer by day. Just as in the Netflix series, his main adversary will once again be Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk who has transformed from a former mob boss into a politician looking to gain even more power within the confines of the city.

While it remains to be seen how close to the original Netflix series Daredevil: Born Again ends up being, what we know is that the series has the potential to become one of the greatest Marvel Disney+ original series to grace our screens. And unlike many Marvel Disney+ shows, we already know that Daredevil’s adventures will continue beyond season 1 with a second season already ordered!

Daredevil: Born Again premieres March 4 on Disney+.

Wednesday

Among Netflix’s biggest releases in 2025 is the second season of its Jenna Ortega-led Addams Family dramedy Wednesday. When the show kicked off in 2023, it quickly became one of the biggest Netflix originals to ever hit the platform and shot Ortega’s career to a whole new level. So it goes without saying that this is a can’t-miss series coming in 2025!

Interestingly, little is known about the second season as Netlfix has been keeping fans in the dark about everything from the season’s plot to the cast but that hasn’t diminished the excitement fans have for season 2 in any way! In fact, the lack of spoilers about the season has only helped to create more buzz as fans are eager to see what adventures await Wednesday in season 2 as she continues her studies.

There has been a promise that we’ll get to see more of Wednesday’s relationships with her family members including mom Morticia, and we are so excited about the promise of getting more scenes between Ortega and Catherine Zeta-Jones in the new season. It’s also been teased that the second season will lean more into the horror elements of the show while dropping some of the romantic aspects featured within season 2, which definitely has us intrigued and excited.

Add in the fact that Lady Gaga is rumored to be joining the cast as well and you have the making for what is sure to be another incredible season!

Wednesday season 2 is coming to Netflix sometime in 2025.

PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS - Disney’s “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” stars Walker Scobell as Percy Jackson

Percy Jackson and the Olympians

13 years after Rick Riordan’s beloved bestselling book series was adapted for a pair of feature films that came with mixed reactions, Percy Jackson got his chance to shine once again in 2023 this time via a new Disney+ original series. Expectations were sky-high for the series which managed to blow them out of the water and deliver what has been hailed as one of the best book-to-TV adaptations of all time.

Following its breakout first season, the hit series returns in 2025 with its second season which will draw inspiration from the second book in the series, The Sea of Monsters. In the book, Percy and his friends once again race against the clock this time after Thalia’s tree is poisoned resulting in the magical borders of Camp Half-Blood beginning to fall. The journey tests the heroes in new ways with Percy having to come into his own as a hero in order to rescue his friend Grover while juggling with coming to terms with a shocking secret about his family which forces Percy to question whether it’s actually an honor or a curse to be the son of Poseidon.

Fans are in store for what should be an amazing second season and we’ll get to not only see the returns of our favorite trio but also the additions of several new characters who will be entering the mix along the way!

Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 is coming to Disney+ sometime in 2025.

Marvel Zombies

While What If… might have come to an end, the franchise will live on in 2025 via the highly anticipated limited series spinoff Marvel Zombies. The 4-episode event series will pick up where we left off back in season 1 of What If… which asked the question, what if The Avengers are infected by a zombie plague?

The episode was not only one of the best episodes of the show’s first season but one of the best episodes from the entire series. It was an episode that left fans eager for more and Marvel is answering the call with this spinoff series which promises to up the ante by going full TV-MA!

While it’s unclear how the events of the series will play out or exactly how much time might have passed between the events of the show and that of “What If… Zombies?!” aired back in 2021, what we do know is that Marvel has lined up an amazing voice cast that includes Awkwafina, David Harbour, Simu Liu, Elizabeth Olsen, Randall Park, Florence Pugh, Hailee Steinfeld, Dominique Thorne, Iman Vellani, and Todd Williams.

Marvel Zombies is sure to be the perfect Halloween event series and one that fans aren’t going to want to sleep on!

The Wheel of Time

When it comes to fantasy TV series, there really isn’t any bigger show coming in 2025 than Prime Video’s hit series The Wheel of Time. Season 3 of Prime Video’s hit series will grace our screens this spring and the show is most certainly one show viewers cannot miss in 2025!

At the end of season 2, Rand was reunited with his friends and officially declared the Dragon Reborn but just because Ishamael has been defeated does not mean the threats against the Light are gone. In fact, they’re about to multiply as “the White Tower stands divided, the Black Ajah run free, old enemies return to the Two Rivers, and the remaining Forsaken are in hot pursuit of the Dragon… including Lanfear, whose relationship with Rand will mark a crucial choice between Light and Dark for them both.”

Season 3 promises to challenge Rand in new ways as his past unravels and our Champion of the Light begins to become unrecognizable to his closest allies. It seems the battle to prevent Rand from turning to the Dark is about to reach new levels as Moiraine and Egwene stop at no cost to protect Rand from giving into the Dark.

You’d be an absolute fool not to watch The Wheel of Time season 3 which promises to be the best season yet of television’s greatest fantasy series.

The Wheel of Time season 3 premieres March 13 on Prime Video.

The Last of Us season 2

The Last Of Us

2025 is going to be quite the year for Pedro Pascal fans. Not only will Pascal be making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, but he’ll also be back to reprise his role as Jojel in HBO’s breakout series The Last of Us which returns for a second season following a 2-year break.

Season 2 finds Joel and Ellie’s pasts catching up to them as the pair who were inseparable in season 1, find themselves in conflict not just with the world around them but with each other as well. With a five-year time jump coming our way, there is no telling where our journey will begin or take us within season 2 but we cannot wait to see what surprises await us when season 2 finally arrives this year.

The Last Of Us season 2 is coming to HBO sometime in 2025.

Ironheart

After countless delays, Ironheart will finally get her chance to fly on Disney+ this summer as Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams makes her long-anticipated debut in her new self-titled Disney+ original series!

Following a breakout performance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Thorne returns as Ironheart but don’t expect our hero to be flying high as the show begins. After the events of Wakanda Forever, Riri is simply trying to keep her head above water as she attempts to break out of her rut after being expelled from MIT. This has set her on a course that leads her path to cross with Anothony Ramos’ Parker Robbins aka The Hood, leading to a fun showdown between technology and magic.

The six-episode series not only welcomes Riri back into the mix but will also serve as the closing chapter of Phase Five of the MCU. Exactly what could that mean for the larger implications the show might have on the MCU’s sixth phase? Fans are going to have to tune in to see!

Ironheart premieres June 24 on Disney+.

Stranger Things

Of course, how can you celebrate the best shows coming in 2025 and not talk about Stranger Things?! I mean, it would be simply criminal as the final season of Netflix’s award-winning drama is sure to be the biggest TV event of the entire year!

After what has been a near-flawless journey, Stranger Things will sign off the airwaves for good in 2025 with what is sure to be the show’s biggest season in every sense of the word. The final season has taken years to put together and the hard work from the cast and creative team will finally be released into the world this year as we get to witness the closing journey of a show that changed the television landscape forever.

Little is known about the final season by design, but what we do know is that Eleven and the citizens of Hawkins are in for their toughest battle yet as they battle against Vecna, attempting to permanently close the gateway to the Upside Down. The episodes are set to be movie-quality which likely means we’re in store for some lengthy episodes, but we will happily welcome extended episodes of the show which we’re still not quite prepared to say goodbye to.

The expectations are incredibly high and fans are eager to see if the show can stick the landing, breaking a streak many hit shows have struggled with over the years in crafting a final season that delivers proper closure to the show and the story arcs of its many beloved characters.

Will the Duffer Brothers pull off one of the greatest final seasons we’ve ever seen? We’ll finally find out when Stranger Things season 5 hits Netflix later this year!

Stranger Things season 5 is coming to Netflix sometime in 2025.
