Via Marvel, we get our first official look at Charlie Cox in his Daredevil costume for Netflix’s upcoming series Daredevil. Some fans may be initially angered due to him not wearing his signature crimson gear. Complainers should realize that this show will be an origin series, so the costume will evolve over time. Hardcore fans will probably be sitting by and smiling because they know that this costume is based on the Daredevil: Man without Fear series by Frank Miller and John Romita, Jr. Along with the pics of the all-black costume, we also get a closer look at Matt Murdock in his red-tinted sunglasses, with some residual scarring around his eyes.
A fun bit of trivia: this costume also looks a lot like the costume used for Daredevil’s first live-action appearance in 1989’s Trial of the Incredible Hulk.
Daredevil will be one of four Marvel/Netflix shows centered around events taking place in Hell’s Kitchen. The other three will be Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones. Like the cinematic universe, all four characters from each show will later converge together in a miniseries event called The Defenders — another superhero team akin to The Avengers.
