1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
That’s right, and I know that some will agree with me. I loved this movie the most without a doubt. The moment I thought about making this list, I knew which film was going to take the No. 1 spot. The Winter Solider had me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire film and I loved the feeling I was getting.
The Russo brothers did such a fantastic job taking the “Star-Spangled Man With a Plan” that we knew and giving him a challenge in a modern-day world where trust became an issue at all turns. Yet our hero still came in and saved the day, though not before some serious destruction and crazy fight scenes. I need to compliment all involved on the wonderful fight choreography based on how amazing the hand-to-hand combat was between everyone.
This movie had just the right level of darkness with humor put in at the right moments. Sebastian Stan broke away from the Bucky Barnes that we used to know as the Winter Soldier and made his role spine-chilling and so believable. The Russos gave Winter Soldier mystery and made the viewer question him at moments, which made me feel this was such an amazing move for the film.
The only thing I didn’t like, though the film itself wasn’t at fault, was the fact that the ads and previews kept showing us that Winter Soldier was Bucky. I wish they had left that reveal for non-comic readers who just view the movies to see, as I think it would’ve been a bigger impact. Still, I love this film, and the Russo brothers made me excited for both Captain America: Civil War and both parts of Avengers: Infinity War
