Comic-Con 2016: 26 Things We Hope To See

#7 – DCEU: Announcing Who Will Embody A Green Lantern

The reason I wrote “A Green Lantern” is because there will be a Green Lantern Corps movie that will involve multiple Green Lanterns—and we haven’t even heard about which Green Lanterns will be in it and which actors will be cast in the roles.

Chris Pine was originally rumored to be Hal Jordan. We soon found out that he wasn’t. However, he was still going to be involved in the DCEU—as Steve Trevor in the upcoming Wonder Woman. The next name that popped up was Dan Amboyer, who was going to play a pre-ring-wearing Hal Jordon in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. After the release of that movie, we found out that Amboyer was just playing a pilot with no ties to the comics.

There’s been a number of names floating around. And some of them are from the actors themselves who have been lobbying to play one of the Lanterns—like Tyrese Gibson trying to get the role of John Stewart.

So who could it be? And I’m asking this both in terms of the characters and actors. The actors would be a total toss-up, but which Green Lantern will we be getting? Hal Jordan? Guy Gardner? John Stewart? Kyle Rayner? Alan Scott? Simon Baz? Jessica Cruz? Or all of them?
