#23 – MCU: First Images of Ghost Rider

This is why some studios are wary of releasing any type of images out into the wild—fan speculation. Recently, to promote Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4, Marvel Studios and ABC released an image of a flaming chain. People started to wonder … and that wonder became rumor. Pretty soon, it was all over the forums: Ghost Rider will be appearing!

However, logic kicked in. With Netflix being the perfect platform for Marvel’s darker and more serious material (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, etc.), why would ABC want to even attempt to bring Ghost Rider to life? It turns out that ABC is a bigger risk-taker than we give them credit for. Recent casting calls were looking for actors to play two Latino brothers with one of them being wheelchair bound.

Hmm, that sounds a lot like the premise for Marvel’s All-New Ghost Rider—which centers around the brothers Robbie Reyes and Gabe Reyes. Could Comic-Con 2016 show us some awesome footage of Robbie becoming Ghost Rider right before our eyes? Could the agents be alerted to some Ghost Rider activity where we suddenly see a flaming chain shoot out? We’ll just have to wait and see.
