2. Onomatopoeia

Onomatopoeia is one of the Arrow comic’s newest villains. This person debuted in 2002, but hasn’t appeared since 2010. That doesn’t mean this evil character can’t be used, and it may be one of the best choices for Emerson’s role.

Onomatopoeia can imitate any sound around him, which would include the noise of a bow and arrow. He’s also a skilled fighter that could take Oliver Queen in a one-on-one battle.

This was an arch-enemy of Oliver’s and Black Canary’s in the comic books, so with Juliana Harkavy becoming a series regular on Arrow, maybe this is someone that goes after both crime-fighting heroes for different reasons. It could be related to their respective pasts.

In the comics, Onomatopoeia is known for durability, as he can withstand continuous assault but never seen harmed. So it may take more than one usually-fatal arrow to the chest from the Green Arrow to stop him.

This would be a unique character for Arrow to use. He’s a grounded foe, which the show has done its best with over the five years (Malcolm Merlyn, Deathstroke, Adrian Chase). Sticking to that script is best and makes Onomatopoeia a candidate for Emerson’s villain role.
