It’ll be easy to let an actor like Ackles slide by the wayside as a name replacing Ben Affleck as Batman, however, that’ll be a mistake. Not only is he extraordinarily talented, I mean the dude can sing and act but, he’s part of that Warner Bros. machine and he’s one half of the reason why Supernatural has been on the air for over a decade — he’s ready for a big-time role. If it’s one thing that he’s proven throughout his tenure as Dean is that he can play a superhero. In fact, Ackles’ voice work as Jason Todd/Red Hood in DC’s Animated movie Under the Red Hood — on top of his Supernatural work has earned him a lot of cool points with fans.

Ackles portrayal of Jason Todd developed a cult following so strong that fans have been clamoring for the 39-year old to reprise the role in live-action. While his age may not be conducive to Jason Todd — it works well for Batman along with his height, voice, and looks. In the DCEU Ackles would pick up in Affleck’s shoes, but as a younger version which would work well for his appearances in future movies. Besides, it was rumored that Marvel was interested in him playing a role in their MCU, so if he’s good enough for Marvel then he should be good enough for DC — make it happen. Unless they have the number one pick in mind, sorry Ackles.
