Historical Period Drama – Black Adam
If you haven’t heard by now, Dwayne Johnson will allegedly get to suit up as Black Adam in the next Suicide Squad movie however, that’s hardly the beginning of his Black Adam origin story. The story of Black Adam is one that involves some historical Egyptian references that could eradicate the mistakes made by films like Gods of Egypt.
Black Adam origin begins with him as an Egyptian, born Teth Adam to the pharaoh Ramsey II. Though privileged, Teth displayed fairness and a kind heart, traits that earned him the favor of The Wizard. The Wizard would bestow his powers unto Teth, but not before Blaze made a deal with the god Set so that when Teth spoke the name Shazam he would be granted the powers of six Egyptian gods. Now known as Mighty he would serve as a great champion and protector until his homeworld was destroyed forcing him to abandoned his morals in favor of vengeance. DC has announced that they plan on going all in on the anti-villain sometime in the future making way for another historical drama.
