Avengers: Infinity War way-too-early death predictions

Captain America
For some time now, Chris Evans has talked about retiring from acting to become a full-time director. Moreover, as reported in Variety, all the original Avengers, including Chris Evans, will have their contracts expire by Avengers 4. This alone would suggest that, as a conclusion to their individual stories, at least one Avenger will have to die. The Sentinel of Liberty is the most obvious and likely candidate.
Steve Rogers story is one of many who is both out-of-place and out of time. Almost everything and everyone he ever knew is gone, especially the love of his life, Peggy Carter. The only link to the past he has left is Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan). Furthermore, Steve is the most heroic Avenger, whom everyone, even Tony Stark, is inspired by. Even before getting super powers, he stood up to those who would threaten and intimidate others. For his story to end with him giving everything he has against Thanos would be the stuff of legend.
That said, it’s not likely Steve will die during Avengers: Infinity War. If he does he during a grand, climactic battle with Thanos, it will be as Captain America, shield and all. He also has to reconcile with Tony, as well. All of this has to happen first before Steve potentially dies.
Steve could still die during Avengers: Infinity War, but it makes more sense for this happen during Avengers 4. Let’s just chalk this up as a “maybe” for the time being.
Probability of death: 50 percent
