2. The Fantastic Four
The Fantastic Four hold a special place in T’Challa’s history. In 1966 Black Panther made his first appearance in Fantastic Four issue 52. This marked the first time the Black Panther and T’Challa were seen in comic books. In this issue, the Fantastic Four were allowed access into Wakanda. An honor that is not allowed to just anyone. But the Fantastic Four have proven on multiple occasions that they are the most honorable team in comics.
During the Marvel Civil War, T’Challa was at odds with Mr. Fantastic and the pro-registration team. Feeling bad for his part in the war, Reed opened his home to T’Challa, his wife Storm, and the Wakandans left without a base of operation. While there, Storm and T’Challa filled in for Reed and Sue Richards while they worked on their damaged relationship. And when the Hulk came back after he was unjustifiably sent into space, T’Challa stayed and helped the Fantastic Four. T’Challa has a bond with the Fantastic Four that many don’t. T’Challa is also one of the only two or three people that can understand Reed’s scientific work.
