Every X-Men movie, ranked from worst to best
3. X-Men
Superhero movies were certainly around before X-Men came along in 2000, and a lot of them were successful (Batman, Superman, and Blade), but it wasn’t like the comic book movie scene today. Then, X-Men came along and the film was unlike nothing anything we had ever seen before from the comic book genre. X-Men showed the general audience that superhero movies can be faithful to their source material and still manage to be spectacular movies on their own with great storylines, a sharp narrative focus, jam-packed with action and be entertaining and serious.
This movie puts some of our favorite superheroes onto the big screen and filled their shoes with actors who are only now, in 2018, stepping out of their roles as these iconic characters and handing them off to a new generation. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and, of course, Hugh Jackman killed it in their respective roles and these actors managed to give regular audience members characters to perish and even look up to.
