Jessica Jones season 2: 5 things we want to see
By Mark Lynch
4. Jessica Jones and Luke Cage
Luke Cage is an important part of Jessica’s life and not just from a romantic standpoint. He’s instrumental in helping Jessica overcome her issues with Killgrave. Cage also challenges her to be more than what she is. And since Luke has forgiven Jessica for her involvement in the death of his wife, it’s time we got to see them together more.
Having Luke in this show wouldn’t make Jessica a lesser character or the other way around. The two of them work great together. The Jessica Jones and Luke Cage relationship is one of the many wonderful things in Jessica’s life. She makes him better and vice versa. They eventually have a baby together (Danielle Cage) and become better people and heroes because they have each other.
During Netflix’s The Defenders, there were a couple of moments that lead me to believe that Jessica and Luke will be together. When Jessica leaves Luke and tells him that they should get some coffee together, Luke perks up. There is also the moment they share when Jessica leaves the restaurant and they talk. Luke definitely cares for Jessica and the feeling seems to be mutual. On top of that, Krysten Ritter and Mike Colter have great chemistry. It would be a shame to see the two of them not see them together at all this season.
