DCEU: A dream cast for Ava DuVernay’s New Gods

Ben Foster as Mister Miracle

One of the most underrated actors in all of Hollywood, Ben Foster should star in his own superhero franchise. If such doesn’t happen, then he’d be an amazing pick to play Mister Miracle in Duvernay’s New Gods.

Mister Miracle is Big Barda’s husband and though he is a formidable fighter, he is perhaps one of the least powerful New Gods. That doesn’t make him weak, though. Mister Miracle is also perhaps one of the coolest of all the New Gods. His personality might just be his greatest characteristic and that’s why Ben Foster would dominate the role.

Foster is a multifaceted actor that absolutely crushes every role he is in. He’s not tied to one specific type of acting portrayal, making him a versatile actor. Such nuance can bring new life to the superhero genre, especially in a character such as Mister Miracle.

Foster played Angel in X-Men: The Last Stand, but we can all agree that his character was wasted in a rather mediocre movie. His return in New Gods would rejuvenize him in the superhero landscape. Though, after his stellar roles in Lone Survivor, Hell or High Water and Hostiles, I think he’s on the top of his game already.
