4. The real Danny Rand

Danny Rand is the star of the series. He’s also one of the reasons people aren’t excited about the show returning. Finn’s portrayal of Danny was poor in season one. It started off right with Danny being naive while still maintaining his intelligence and fighting skill. As the series continued, he got bland and annoying.

In Defenders, we saw glimpses of how good Finn could be. For example, watching him in the Chinese Food restaurant was magnificent. He was extremely entertaining and added something among three members of the Defenders (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage).

While this isn’t a comic book, keeping to the source material could be a great idea. Matt Fraction and Ed Brubaker wrote an Iron Fist story that highlighted everything that the Iron Fist is. His powers extend to more than just punching things with a glowing fist. For example, Danny Rand can focus his chi to heal himself and hypnotize other people. Also, his personality is better than what we’ve seen so far.

Danny has a swagger to him that we’ve yet to see. He’s not arrogant, but he’s sure in his power and fighting prowess. That confidence is a must. A hero in the darker Netflix Marvel Cinematic Universe can’t be unsure of himself. Especially if he’s supposed to be a protector of the city.
