Joker and Harley Quinn script completed — here’s what we expect

Harley’s emancipation from Joker
Part of this film should result in Harley leaving behind a relationship that isn’t healthy. An underlying message, despite the inevitable dark comedy, is strength. As a matter of fact, Ficarra also revealed to Metro that Harley Quinn will kidnap Dr. Phil. If so, the kidnapping is likely an effort to help her work through her issues.

We imagine a sequence where she’s speaking to Dr. Phil, revealing the instability and abuse she’s suffered. If he stays true to his real-life self, he’ll counsel her to make the best decision. The advice should likely end up with her deciding to leave Joker.
One arc in the pages of DC Comics, Harley moved on from Joker and started dating a guy named Mason. In Harley Quinn #25, she broke into Arkham Asylum to rescue her boyfriend. During the rescue mission she crossed paths with her ex, and in the end, Harley beat Joker down, proving she was over the Clown Prince. However, Harley Quinn and DC Comic fans remember something else happening before she moved on.
Of course, fans that follow Harley’s story remember the initial breakup was Joker throwing Harley out a window. This was after she caught Batman for him. Joker’s pride got in the way and he kicked her out in Mad Love. If that’s the case and Batman: Mad Love is part of the inspiration, then there’s another person we must have.
