8. Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent

If the rumors are true, it’s unfortunate that Henry Cavill is out as Superman so soon. He was the closest thing we are ever going to get to someone who embodied both Superman and Clark Kent since Christopher Reeve. I know there are a plethora of people who will say that Batman v. Superman and Justice League weren’t good movies. As with Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot, that’s not the fault of the actors. Cavill wasn’t bad. I’d even argue that Man of Steel was the best movie in the DCEU from start to finish.

Beyond what people may have said about the Man of Steel script, Cavill was amazing as both Clark Kent and Superman. He could play the overpowered human who was scared to hurt anyone,  the outcast who wanted to be away from humanity, and he was also great when he hated that he had to kill Zod. People get angry at him for doing that, forgetting that this Superman was still new at his job. Just because he didn’t do what Superman would do in the comics shouldn’t take away from how great he was, especially since he was everything you wanted from Superman in Justice League.
