NYCC: Everything we know about Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse has released new information in New York Comic-Con 2018 giving fans a 35 minute look at the movie. Here’s everything we know from it.

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse is a movie that we’ve been waiting for three years is almost here and these new information are just making the hype even better. Based on news from IGN and CBR about the 35 minute preview, here’s everything we know about it from the NYCC panel. There are spoilers ahead, so read at your own discretion.

The life of Peter and Miles in the same universe

Peter Parker has been Spider-Man for 10 years and this monologue isn’t actually voiced by Jake Johnson, but someone else. We see his quick origin story and a bit of references to older movies of Spidey and his amazing love life and family. He claims to be the “one and only” Spidey which we’re pretty sure will soon change.

Miles is attending Brooklyn Visions Academy, which he is new to and it seems to be filled with fun and humor. We also see the “I love you dad” scene which we’ve seen a couple of times in trailers. Miles later meets up with Aaron Davis, whom we all know as his uncle and of course the Prowler at a place that is next to a secret laboratory and then the spider bites Miles on the hand. We also see an unexpected person in the universe who is Gwen Stacy.

Miles’ Spider Bite And A Major Death

Just like Peter when he was bitten by a radioactive spider, Miles starts to experience changes to the body and goes back to find the spider whom he killed the night before, the animation seems truly comic accurate and a lot amazing. Miles then gets in the middle of a fight between Spider-Man and the Green Goblin (the one we saw in the first trailer) where the super collider is. Spider-Man meets Miles Morales and the “You’re like me, how?” scene comes along (also seen in the trailer before). He promises to help and teach Miles about his powers after he finishes his fight with the Green Goblin which he thinks he can take care of until the Prowler also comes in to join the fight.

Spider-Man sees the super collider in process and then sees something before the place explodes. Miles finds Spidey in the wreckage and Kingpin orders Prowler to kill Spidey. Spidey tells Kingpin about the thing he saw but Kingpin thinks of this as a trick and punches the weakened Spidey and he dies.

Miles then tries to become Spider-Man even after a few failures and then comes across another Spider-Man whom he venom strikes. The Spider-Man he meets is the Peter Parker voiced by Jake Johnson. This version of Peter Parker is actually a depressed being who has been Spider-Man for 22 years, his Aunt May has died and he and Mary Jane have divorced.

The special cameo of a legend

We all know that in every single Marvel Movie must exist that one cameo that is always worth it, and this cameo is always done by the legend, Stan Lee. Stan appears in the movie as a costume shop owner that is visited by Miles to get himself a Spider Costume. The suit doesn’t fit Miles but Stan replies saying “It will fit eventually”.
