1. Live a double life
Before Danny came into the picture, Mary had moved to New York City from Oak Creek, Wisconsin and undertook work as a private investigator and mercenary under her Walker alternate. It is presumed that Mary had not been prevalent for a while, but Mary came back and found a way to remain constant by having showers, putting Walker’s investigation of Danny at risk.
Aside from attaining the lifestyle of bloodshed and unruliness as part of her assassin career – like her comic book analogue – no matter what aspect of her personality resurfaces, she will ultimately lead a double life, or in this case, multiple lives. For most sufferers of DID, there is no cure, but long-term therapy can help. Mary, has been diagnosed with a mental disorder and has taken medication and precautionary methods to better manage the constant switches, however, there are drawbacks between each of the alters. These changes are drawn about by climate and emotional distress.
In the comics, while Mary had tried getting her life together, even becoming a soap actress at one point, she had returned to a life of crime via her Typhoid alternate once more, often under the employ of The Kingpin and resuming her love-hate relationship with Daredevil much like Elektra. It was not until Mary befriended Peter Parker’s spouse, Mary Jane Watson and her Bloody Mary persona crossed paths with his web-slinging alter-ego, Spider-Man that she has strongly begun to seek more suitable treatment. Mart was admitted to a mental institution until Deadpool – one of the mercenaries each persona hired – broke her out.
There is possible redemption for Mary and her other personalities depending on where Marvel and Netflix intend to go with her arc. Due to the gritty nature of these shows, she may either probably end being in a psych ward for the rest of her life, having to deal with leading these split lives or the worst case scenario, end up dying from a mental break and attempt suicide or end up dying through shear fate at the hands of a hero or a criminal.
