When it comes to their MCU spinoff shows, no one expected Disney Plus to hold back, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is making major moves.

Get ready for a high-flying kick butt adventure when The Falcon and Winter Soldier hits Disney Plus. In fact, according Deadline, fans can expect to see the dynamic duo sooner rather than later. Keri Skogland is expected to direct The Falcon and the Winter Soldier miniseries which will debut on Disney Plus in Aug 2020:

"“Kari Skoglandhas been set to direct the six-part Disney Plus miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier… The miniseries will air in August 2020.”"

If you aren’t familiar with Keri Skogland’s work, the long-time director has made her way around the small screen. Skogland isn’t unfamiliar with directing a comic book series, as she’s directed episodes of the Walking Dead and Netflix’s The Punisher.

Moreover, she’s directed episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale, Vikings, and House Of Cards. As director, Skogland will get to direct some returning MCU characters. Joining Anthony Mackie (Falcon) and  Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier) is Emily VanCamp who portrayed Sharon Carter/Agent 13.

As promised by Van Camp in 2014, the seeds for Agent 13 were just being planted. The last time we saw Van Camp’s character, she had a small role in Captain America: Civil War, during which she locked lips with the titular hero

Before that, she was posing as his neighbor in The Winter Soldier. It’s going to be interesting to see what role Carter plays in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. In addition to the returning VanCamp Daniel Bruhl will also reprise his role as Helmut Zemo.

Bruhl’s played two Nazi associated characters in on the big screen. Inglorious Bastards and Zemo in the MCU. In the comics, Zemo led a successful assault against the Avengers. He’s also teamed with the Thunderbolts as Citizen Z.

Bruhl’s a fantastic actor who will shine in a series. Playing a big bad alongside this excellent cast will be a sight to see. But will six episodes be enough? We’ve waited a while to see VanCamp and Bruhl return to the MCU.

August 2020 can’t get here fast enough, as excitement continues to build. What do you think of the new details surrounding The Falcon and the Winter Soldier?
