Just Call Him the Purple Dagger!
In theory, Ahmed could have some nuance planned in the future. Zeer may be a corrupt ruler, but Cheb’s rebellion may not be as black-and-white as it seems. Torture is wrong, but if an alien visited our world, might they see many police interrogations or treatments of prisoners in jails as different? Kamala was technically welcomed as a royal guest, and broke out a state criminal within hours. Zeer, to a degree, was justified in a harsh response. And while the legend that Zeer talks of could be a lie, the “unseen masters” could still be real. Or it could all be as predictable as it seems.

Cheb Hura only gets introduced in a few pages, but it seems obvious that he’s intended to replace Red Dagger. He’s meant to act as a sort of “alternative” to Bruno within Kamala’s social circle. He’s a cute boy who can more actively engage with her in superhero adventures without moping so much about the inconveniences it can be to his life, like Bruno has. The loss of the bombastically fun Red Dagger has been missed within this series, and it will be fun to see if Hura can measure up. The senior Khans’ reaction to him is priceless. Alien or not, no parent wants a shirtless boy around their “little girl!”
