Liam Hemsworth as Angel

We saw Angel depicted in the previous X-Men franchise, where he was first played by Ben Foster in X-Men: The Last Stand. Foster did a great job for a role that yearned for more. Unfortunately, in X-Men: Apocalypse, actor Ben Hardy didn’t get the proper treatment, either.

In the comics, Angel was manipulated by Apocalypse who restored his wings, at a cost.  Needless to say, he was more than a brainwashed henchman to the god-like mutant. In the pages of Marvel comics, he was one of the original X-Men.

Moreover, prior to becoming a member of the X-Men, Warren Worthington III emerged as a superhero after discovering he could fly. It wasn’t until running into Iceman and Cyclops that he became an X-Men.

Even after departing from the X-Men, Angel continued his heroics as part of the Champions and the Defenders. Another mark missed by the original series was Angel’s brash personality, and Liam Hemsworth can capture that.

This may come off a bit cheesy to some since his brother (Chris Hemsworth) plays Thor, but little brother Liam Hemsworth is made for a comic book movie role, and Angel is the ideal role for him.

After showing potential in Independence Day: Resurgence and The Duel, he would get a chance to star in comic book movie. Let’s face he, he looks like a comic book hero already. Hemsworth will have an opportunity to play a version of Angel we haven’t seen.
