Dacre Montgomery as Cyclops

Cyclops was vastly mistreated in the X-Men movie franchise. This man is the leader of the X-Men, he’s confident and has his own vision. He’s not the boy scout he once was, nor is he Professor X’s lackey. That’s the version of Cyclops we need in the MCU after his previous neglection.

The best example of a misdirected character was none other than Cyclops. Yes,  the “leader” of the X-Men. In Age of Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix, Tye Sheridan took over the role as the leader who often gets overshadowed.

Playing the younger version of James Marsden’s Cyclops. To no fault of Marsden, Cyclops was forgettable because the writers forgot how great he was. In The Last Stand, he got an unceremonious death bat the hands of Jean. Sadly, Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix didn’t do him any favors, either.

Thankfully, Disney can ride in on their white horse and save the day. Cyclops needs to the spotlight, and Dacre Montgomery can help give it to him.

He’s begging for a superhero role. Okay, technically he was one, playing Jason in the 2017 Power Rangers movie. Fans also know him from Stranger Things as the bully (and apparent racist) Billy Hargrove. He’s capable of bringing out the best parts of Scott Summers.
