Comic-Con 2019: 5 things we hope to learn about Arrow Season 8

3. Confirmation Of John Diggle Stewart

It goes without saying that the one character who will suffer the most with Oliver out of the picture is his right-hand man John Diggle. In fact, he suffered while Oliver was still in the picture, simply because he kept going round in never-ending circles. Thus, it’s possible that we could see a different version of him in Season 8.

For years, fans have theorised that Diggle’s real surname was actually Stewart and that that would make him eligible to become the John Stewart version of Green Lantern from the comics. Though that theory didn’t come to pass, Season 7’s reveal that his stepfather was actually named Roy Stewart was an unexpected surprise.

Furthermore, Earth-90 Flash’s comments to the character during the Elseworlds crossover alluded to the fact that that, on his earth, Diggle had already become the Green Lantern. Now, with that version of the Scarlet Speedster likely to return during the Crisis, could we see him bring John Diggle Stewart with him?

Of all the potential Arrow announcements we could get at Comic-Con, it goes without saying that this is the one fans have waited for the longest. If it was ever going to happen, now is the time to make it a reality.
