Black Lightning: 6 things we need to see from season 3
By Mark Lynch
2. Thunder. Thunder. THUNDER!
Despite the way Anissa and Jefferson argued, Anissa’s more like her father than she’d like to admit.
First, she’s all about helping everyone. We’ve seen her take matters into her own hands like protecting a family from the Sange. She’s also used her powers to destroy a statue that’s represented hatred during a protest. And last season she became a Robin Hood of sorts that criminals were calling Blackbird. Her father doesn’t like what she’s doing even though he’d probably do the same thing if the roles were reversed.
Her storyline with her girlfriend didn’t have a conclusion. Grace is still out there and seemingly losing control of her body. Hopefully this season will get right into what happens to Grace. The talk Anissa had with Jennifer helped her realize that she should go after Grace. Jennifer said that if she could, nothing would stop her from finding Khalil if he was alive. With everything that’s going to happen with Markovia, they may have to get into this story quickly. No telling how much time they’ll have before the poop starts hitting the fan.
Unlike last season, this shouldn’t seem like it was just thrown in there just to give Anissa a storyline.
