2. Crisis on Infinite Earths

The multiverse is being destroyed by a wave of antimatter and Earth’s heroes from across the multiverse must come together to stop it.

This right here is where DC’s events all started. The grandfather of everything that has since followed. And just for that alone, the series should be this high on the list. However, it earns this spot on the list anyway as it is a fantastic series.

Exhilarating in all the best ways possible, the story is grandiose, while also being extremely personal, which is incredibly hard to do. Regardless of what the series did to reboot DC’s continuity in real life, Crisis on Infinite Earths is a great singular read, but probably not the first thing one should read when getting into comics (writer stares into mirror).

The only problem that some people may have when getting into Crisis on Infinite Earths is the writing style involved. It is a very 80s writing style that by modern standards is very dated. Once you get past that though, Crisis on Infinite Earths is brilliant.

It’s easy to see why the Arrowverse picked this as its endgame of sorts, and with such strong source material, you can rest assured that The CW’s Crisis On Infinite Earths has a lot to live up to.
