Portland Trail Blazers
The Portland Trail Blazers have been a good team for most of their time in the NBA. One of the few teams that can boast this. They’ve had some incredible luck with draft picks over the years. Unfortunately, they’ve also had some really sad stories as well.
Bill Walton and Clyde Drexler are two Hall of Fame players that started their career with the Blazers. Bill Walton had a short stint, but Clyde Drexler was there for the long haul. Drexler spent ten years on the Blazers before getting traded to the Houston Rockets. The Blazers recently drafted Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. Two guys who are already stars in the league.
Among the unfortunate stories are two players whose careers ended before they could get started. Brandon Roy was an unselfish player who could score from anywhere on the court. Greg Oden is another one. He could have been a more mobile Dikembe Mutombo. Together, they may have brought a title to Portland. Both of their careers were cut short by injuries.
Loki
The Portland Trail Blazers are a trickster team; you can never quite figure out what you’re getting from them. For example, in recent years, the beginning of the season hasn’t been kind to them. Then, after the All-Star break, they come out and go on a hot streak. When they get into the playoffs, it’s Dame time. Not game time, Dame time. Damian Lillard is dangerous in the playoffs. He’s hit multiple clutch shots over the last few years. Just last season he sent the Oklahoma City Thunder home with one heck of a long-range three-point shot.
As it was stated earlier, the Trail Blazers have terrible luck with injuries. Every year someone goes down that could have helped them go further in the playoffs. Last year, Jusuf Nurkic injury hurt their chances of really competing. Rodney Hood’s injury will hurt as well. Hopefully, Loki will be less mischievousness to the Blazers.
