Matching 30 Marvel Cinematic Universe characters with each NBA team

Dallas Mavericks
From 2000 to 2012, the Dallas Mavericks were always one of the best teams in the league. A good portion of their success can be attributed to the seven-foot phenomenon named Dirk Nowitzki.
Dirk was doing something that people his size had no business doing; shooting the three ball like a guard. It became one of his deadliest weapons. Then, he developed a fade-away from the post. Trying to block the shot of a guy seven feet tall as he faded away from the basket was an impossible feat. It also helped that he had one heck of a shooter’s touch. While big men shooting from the perimeter has become a normal thing in today’s NBA, Dirk will always remain one of the best.
Star-Lord
Peter Quill is the most unconventional hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Being a space pirate doesn’t scream, “I’m on a team called Guardian of the Galaxy.” Nonetheless, he is. If you looked at Dirk you’d assume he was just another center who worked in the paint. Can Dirk be an interior player? Of course, but that isn’t his game. Both Star-Lord and Drik Nowitzki have proven that looks don’t mean anything.
Dirk and Star-Lord have beaten the odds. Star-Lord did that when he defeated Ronan the Accuser and Ego. It happened for Dirk when the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Miami Heat in the 2011 NBA Finals. The funny thing is they came back similar to how the Heat did it to them years prior. This time, it was the Heat who were favored and lost.
