Movie: Avengers: Endgame (2019)

Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor had their first real test in five years and it was against Thanos in his prime. It didn’t go well. Then, Thanos’ army came to Earth and the only hero left standing was a beaten Captain America.

Cap, pulled the strap on his broken shield and prepared for battle. It didn’t matter that he was outnumbered. Then, out of nowhere, Cap heard a familiar voice say, “on your left.” It was Sam Wilson. Along with him were all of the heroes who were turned to dust and then some.

This was the moment we’d all been waiting for. Thanos and his minions against the universe’s greatest heroes. This time, neither side had an unfair advantage. With both teams lined up, Cap yells, “Avengers!” calls back Mjolnir and says, “Assemble.” and the final battle began.

They ran towards each other letting out battle cries before they collided. There was so much going on and everything could be seen with clarity. Another added bonus is catching something new every time you watch it. Everyone got some time to shine in this fight. This also displayed the spirit of a hero. No matter what happened to them prior to this, they still believed this was a battle worth fighting for.

Everything about this fight was what we wanted. A final confrontation with every hero that we’ve loved for years. It wasn’t just the superheroes. The Asgardians, Wakandans, sorcerers, and some extraterrestrial beings were involved as well. There were no shortage of funny or clever moments either.

Thor and Cap exchanging hammers, Peter Parker saying his name to Captain Marvel, or Gamora kicking Peter Quill in the gentleman parts were all funny. There are moments like Wanda and Captain Marvel putting the fear of death in Thanos’ or the potential of A-Force when the women made a hole for Captain Marvel too. So many great things about this and we haven’t mentioned Captain Marvel’s entrance or Tony Stark’s sacrifice.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe: 15 best MCU fight scenes of all-time was written in the beginning of the year. Before Avengers: Endgame was released. Cap’s elevator fight scene was number one. Who would have thought that fight would be topped? It was a flawless and smooth fight in a tight area. But it didn’t have the emotions that the Avengers: Endgame battle did.

I still get goosebumps when Cap uses Mjolnir for the first time. Tony Stark hugging Peter and his death are still moments that may bring tears. There’s no way this shouldn’t be number one. The action on top of the emotional responses from everything that happened cement this as the best superhero fight scene of the decade. It’ll be a while before this is topped.
