What should we call the Arrowverse after Arrow ends?
The Superverse
With Superman & Lois coming soon to The CW, the symbol of hope will reign supreme. When Supergirl first debuted on July 8th, 2015, it was a bit of a shock that it would be part of the CBS lineup versus The CW’s. One could assume the network thought a show with Super in the title may attract a broader audience than Arrow or The Flash. The biggest letdown to fans was not knowing if this Berlanti-DC Comics show would get a chance to play with his other shows. Rumors persisted until February of 2016 when Deadline confirmed Grant Gustin would guest star on Supergirl–the multiverse was expanding.
Pro: The Super family likely has some longevity to it. Supergirl is in its fifth season and has already been renewed for a sixth, while Superman & Lois has been given a direct to series order. Unless the audience sleeps on this new show, it will likely have a life of its own for a few years. Kara and Kal very well could be the face of The CW at some point.
Con: The Superverse isn’t specific enough. The general audience may very well see “Super” and assume it’s because these shows have characters with superpowers. Suddenly, grandmom–who loves you very much and is trying to connect with you–starts asking if Hawkeye and the Green Arrow are going to meet in the next Superverse crossover.
