Who is Justice Peace?

A recently released image from the upcoming Loki series showed Tom Hiddleston wearing what looked like a prison uniform with the letters “TVA” stamped on its chest area.

More from Marvel TV

In Marvel’s comic books, the TVA is the Time Variance Authority – an infinitely vast government administration that oversees countless realities in Marvel’s multiverse.

Given Loki’s exploits in Avengers: Endgame (he teleported away in 2012 New York, creating a different timeline to the one we’re familiar with), it’s probably fair to assume that he put himself on the organization’s radar and got himself caught – which is where Justice Peace comes in.

You see, he’s a time-hopping mercenary who was hired by the TVA as the leader of their Temporal Law Enforcement Department. He’s the most prolific member of the organization, having appeared twelve times on panel to date, so he’ll probably be Loki’s warden on the show.

He’s essentially a more placid, time-hopping version of – and homage to – 2000 AD’s iconic Judge Dredd.

In the comic books, he’s encountered the likes of She-Hulk (which means there could be a future role for him in the She-Hulk television series), Deadpool (which could see him turn up in the next Deadpool movie, which is being made by Marvel Studios) and the Fantastic Four (which could mean he’ll appear alongside Marvel’s First Family in the MCU, now that the team’s movie rights have shifted from Fox).

He’s a very cool character, and this is all very exciting!
