1. How Will The Reverse-Flash Return?

Ever since Eobard Thawne resurfaced halfway through season 5 – and escaped in the finale – we’ve wondered when and where he would return next. Unfortunately, he didn’t show up in the Crisis (even though he was supposed to). However, he returned in the second half of the season after all previous versions of the multiverse’s Harrison Wells showed up the head of Nash Wells.

The strongest of them all, Thawne managed to overtake Nash’s body and engaged in some psychological warfare with him, attempting to make him relive his greatest tragedy in order to fully take control of his body and, once again, exist in a post-Crisis world.

With Team Flash’s help, Nash was able to propel Thawne from his body into the stratosphere. However, even they knew that wouldn’t be the last they saw of him.

Grant Gustin revealed that a major cliffhanger revolving around Thawne’s return was due to be the initial ending of the season – meaning that he was indeed supposed to return. Unfortunately, as “Success Is Assured” will be focusing on the Mirrorverse arc instead, that will probably be pushed to next season.
