The Batman: 5 other villains we’d like to see appear
4. Jason Todd
The first act of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice saw Bruce Wayne stare longingly at a defaced Robin costume – strongly implying that whoever wore that suit was dead – and then in Suicide Squad, Amanda Waller introduced Harley Quinn as an “accomplice to the murder of Robin.” All signs point to that Robin being Jason Todd.
Even with Ben Affleck no longer wearing the cowl, it may be safe to assume that the DCEU will still introduce Jason Todd at some point sooner rather than later, since The Batman is still presumably a part of that universe. No better time than the present, especially with Todd wielding so much potential as both a villain and a hero.
In the comics, both the bitter resentment that Todd held for Batman for not saving him, and the following redemption arc where Todd slowly integrated himself back into the Bat family, made for some thrilling material. It’s material that would be perfect for a big-screen adaptation.
We already know that the story of The Red Hood works in movie form thanks to the critically-acclaimed straight-to-DVD release of Under the Red Hood. Now, all Matt Reeves has to do is to give us that story in live-action.
