The Batman: 5 other villains we’d like to see appear
1. Man-Bat
Save for some non-canon movies like The Lego Batman Movie, we have seen over a decade’s worth of super serious, super dark Batman movies. We’re not asking Matt Reeves to take it back to the Adam West days, but it would be nice to see the next Batman movies to go back to leaning into the lore’s sillier qualities again and have a little fun. Why so serious, right?
Introducing Man-Bat as a villain in these films offers that sort of break from reality. Nothing too campy, but nothing too dark either. Just something to tell the audience “this movie’s a little dark, but not dark enough that we can’t have a giant Man-Bat.”
Man-Bat does not even need to be one of the main villains of The Batman. Think something closer to Man-Bat’s appearance in Arkham Knight, where he worked more like a side mission that Batman just happened to run into every once in a while. Imagine seeing some of those jump scares from the game on the big screen.
Something that could make for some fun breaks in the story and even more fun jump scares, adding to the in-theater experience.
