Superman

Superman may be the greatest comic book superhero of all time, but he’d be in for a culture shock in the Marvel Universe. Instead of being applauded for doing good, he’d have to get used to J. Jonah Jameson trashing him every day. “What does he have to hide? Should we trust this new alien after so many have come to hurt us?” How would he get used to being attacked for being a good person? His biggest difficulty would be seeing how the mutants have been treated and slaughtered over the years.

The shock of how mutants are perceived in this world would definitely anger Clark in ways he didn’t think possible. Superman detests prejudice of any kind. Knowing this, he would have empathy for the mutants’ struggles. This could lead to him working with the X-Men. Unlike Captain America and S.H.I.E.L.D., if Superman heard about the massacre in Genosha, he would have shown up to stop the attacking Sentinels. He could have stopped them and, at the very least, went to help clean up and look for survivors.

Superman understands what being born different is like and that would no doubt lead to him showing an immense amount of compassion for mutants around the world. He may get trashed by the media, but he would continue to help. It’s what a hero would do.
