Dracula in Blade Trinity

It’s rare that you’ll hear Blade Trinity talked about in a positive light. Sure, it was fun and we received our first glimpse of what Ryan Reynolds would be like playing Deadpool. Other than that, this was not a good movie. It’s fun to watch for the terribleness of it all, but otherwise, this was a forgettable movie. An offense that we shouldn’t get over, however, is what they did to Dracula.

It’s clear that they were going for a different version of the world’s most popular movie monster. They wanted one who was more physically imposing. The problem is that Dracula isn’t a big brute who rushes into things like Link when he sees pots. He’s more calculated, smooth, and patient – some of the many reasons he’s stayed alive for centuries.

This Dracula had none of the personality or charm we’re used to. He was just another generic villain. Even his sword skills weren’t that good

This was a huge missed opportunity. Even if Dracula was going to have a monster form, he should have been more than just a physical challenge. There was nothing with Dracula that separated him from any of the other vampire goons. He was just a bit stronger. This was an absolute waste of not just a comic book character but a classic movie monster. Thankfully, Marvel will have a chance to fix this mistake in an upcoming MCU project.
