Representation is something that this writer speaks about often. It’s important to have characters that represent everyone’s way of life. Kitty Pryde should be no different.

Kitty is proud of her Jewish heritage. She’s always made it a point to let that be known. Sometimes you’ll see her proudly wearing a Star of David around her neck. Considering that there aren’t a lot of Jewish characters in Marvel Comics, why not cast a Jewish woman to play her?

When a Jewish person sees their faith being represented in the MCU in a prominent character, it could very well mean the world to them, helping them believe in themselves and realize that they can be in the spotlight as well. It may also lead to more Jewish roles for more Jewish actors. The more inclusion the better.

Ruth Bat-Seraph (Sabra), Melissa Gold (Songbird), and Marc Spector (Moon Knight) are only a few of the Jewish Marvel Comics characters. Some fans may not even know that Ben Grimm (The Thing) is Jewish. It’s not thrown out there much in the earlier comics or in the movies, so with more Jewish characters showing up on the screen, things like that can change. But it has to start somewhere. Why not here? Kitty Pryde could get the momentum going for Jewish women in the MCU.
